Diesel Engine Technician

Short summary of the job: Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot and preventive maintenance on industrial diesel engines and components to the scope of Aftermarket services/ Equipment rental and responsible for the quality of the work.

Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain industrial diesel engine operation by completing inspections, preventive maintenance requirements, correcting deficiencies, keeping records, diagnosing electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.

  2. Determine equipment condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests, identifying worn and damaged parts and general troubleshooting.

  3. Completing preventive maintenance schedules, installing components, parts upgrades, correcting deficiencies, maintaining appearance and keeping records of time by task.

  4. Diagnose and repair any issues found during initial testing.

  5. Change filters and perform standard service on units.

  6. Maintain a high standard of personnel/ workshop/ equipment/ machines and tooling cleanliness.

  7. Ensure that all work is completed and inspected as per the approved work procedures.

  8. Comply with all company QHSE policies, practices and procedures.

  9. Contribute to the team ethic and perform other reasonable duties as required in support of the business.

  10. Maybe required to work at job site in support of business activities

Knowledge:

  1. Experience working with large industrial diesel engines and related equipment is required.

  2. In-depth understanding of diesel engine technology is required.

  3. Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues on industrial diesel engines.
  4. Have a good attitude and prioritize customer satisfaction.

  5. Ability to communicate well and candidates must be team players.

  6. Have a minimum of passive knowledge of English both spoken and written.

  7. Microsoft office computer skills.

Qualification:

  1. Minimum Mechanical Diploma (D3) with a minimum 5 years’ experience in oil & gas and chemical industry related to diesel engine repair/ turbocharger repair and testing work with OEM standard or international standards.

  2. Maximum age 45 years.

  3. Physically and mentally healthy.

  4. Preferred which hold the Certificate or training related to rotating equipment operation and maintenance from BNSP/ MIGAS/ SKKNI.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

  1. Work  Schedule at Petroturbo workshop: 8 (eight) hours/days which includes starting work on 08:00 AM to 5:00 PM with 1 hour break for lunch or 40 hours per week for five working days in a week and prepared by the on-call outside office hours/days to business needs.

  2. Depending on the workload, personnel may be required to work overtime with little or no notice.

  3. Exposure to shop and field elements such as noise, dust, odors and temperature variations.

  4. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment while in shop environment or on job site.

  5. This is a safety sensitive position.
